This is a scarce little book which tells the story of young Sam Davis who was hung for his refusal to reveal Confederate plans. The book was written by Edythe Johns Rucker Whitley in 1947. Sponsored by the Sam Davis Memorial Association and the Sam Davis Home in Smyrna Tennessee. His story takes 63 pages  The rest of the book consists of photos, geneological material on the Davis family. Some of the pages on Davis have pencil markings which marked the interest of the reader at one time. Some wear to the boards and top and bottom of spine. The color in the scan is not true to the book, which is actually grayish.

This is from  Wikipedia. Bettie Mae Page was an American model who gained a significant profile in the 1950s for her pin-up photos. Often referred to as the "Queen of Pinups", her jet-black hair, blue eyes, and trademark fringe have influenced artists for generations. Her later life was spent in obscurity. Good condition.

Nice soft bound book with the complete title being Davy Crockett's Almanack's of Wild Sports in the West, and Life in the Backwoods.  This reprint was made in 1986 and was published by the Pioneer Press in Union City Tennessee.  143 pages.  The wonderful wood cuts were also reproduced.  This Almanack was received by the public with enthusiasm and it is unknown if Davy Crockett actually wrote it and even unknown if any were printed in Nashville.

They also had a majestic home in Nashville where they entertained Rachel and Andrew Jackson, Sarah and James K Polk, Sam Houston and others. Published by the Rutledge Co in Gadsden Alabama in 1980. This is limited edition of 1,000 copies, this one being 160.  Personal inscriptions from both authors.
