This nice array of pressed flowers in in a half, worn case.

This little box was evidently made for cabinet cards and stereo cards as it measures 8 1/4 by 5 1/2 inches and 4 inches deep.  The silk lining is quite worn.  The metal lettering spells out Photographs with the P being the large artistic P.  There is something missing evidenced by the little nail but it would have been some kind of flourish.   

This is 1-14 Mother Embracing Child in Berg's book. One hair line crack on the edge that I almost missed.  Very minor chipping in one area.  Case won't close, but that's probably me.  The case has the space for four six plates.  Would be nice for a family grouping. 

This beautiful case is pictured in Berg's book on photographic cases.  This is a double sided case that holds two images.  The innards are incomplete, only containing one glass and one brass preserver with the rim missing.  The spine is hanging by a thread and may not survive the mailing or much handling.  The hinges are present though one is bent and doesn't stay attached.  This probably just needs the be bent back.  The front of the case which is seen in the first scan has a dark ring in the middle of the lilies and two other darker ares which you may not see in the scan.  I would suggest that you not buy this item if you are not proficient in repairing this type of case.  

Empty case.  One minor edge chip and one to the tip.  Pillow is somewhat worn looking.  One of the brass holders is split. Please view the scans.

Krainik (17) lists this as a scarce Union case. It features the Sweet Potato Dinner which was also a theme on a $10 Confederate note. A few minor bites on some corners. See scan. Bites on three of the tips. One hinge a little loose.

Nice example of "Night with Her Children, Sleep and Death, a scarce case. No image. Two hair line cracks in top edge is the only condition problem.

Nice wooden viewer for cabinet sized photos. There is a magnifying glass for closer view. See scans. There is a missing area of the inlay at the top right hand edge.

Fantastic rare Union case known as "American Country Life-Summer's Evening." The scene is taken from a Currier print by Frances Flora Palmer. It shows a child chasing butterflies, a farm house, animals and workers baling hay. According to Krainik this is a rare case and is regarded by many collectors as one of the very finest case designs. The case does have some condition problems, the most noticeable being a chip out of the bottom border on the front view, about 1/4 of an inch. There are also some small chips out of some of the corner tips. There is a large crack which begins at the upper right hand corner which extends across the top three fourths of the way and ending at the top edge downward to where the case opens. There is a cut in this same area which extends down to the hinge. This starts from the nail. View the scan which I have lightened so that you can clearly see the crack. The back of the case which has the same design is in excellent condition so if you wanted to display the case only there would be no visable defects, except for small chip out of right hand corner tip.

This was purchased by a dealer friend of mine at an estate sale in Nashville. Unsigned portrait of an unknown lad. The family had deep roots in Nashville but identification was not made by the family. Cased in a half leather case. Note: this information was recently furnished to be by the dealer who purchased this image from the family. The family name was Russell and they lived near the Williamson County line. The person who furnished the name was a 90 year old family member.

Clean and unused interior and gorgeous full leather binding. Hand painted decorative flowers. The only wear to this album is on the top and bottom spine where the leather is split in a couple of places and scuffing. Tips of corners are also lightly scuffed. Decorative back.

This album measures 16 by 11 and a half inches. Front cover is celluloid with hand painting of the raised flower along the margins of the scene. There are scratches on the celluoid but most are surface scratches. One scrach which is deeper. Spine and back are decorative velvet cloth. The covers are intact with the spine. Consider this a decorative item as the interior is worn, foxed and some pages loose from the binding. The clasps are in good working order and gold gilt on the exterior pages. Exellent conversation piece despite problems to the interior.
