Nice condition on this CDV size tintype.

This is a lot of nine CDVs holding gem size tintypes.  None are identified.  If you have an album with unfilled spaces, this would be useful.  One has some bubbling which I believe can be seen in the scan. 

This cut down image measures 3 by 2 1/2 inches.  There is a deep bend in the top area just above the top of the carriage. Can be mailed in a first class envelope for a savings.

I'm assuming this is a cadet.  The backmark is Kertson & Barker in New York.  Trimmed edges

Precious little girl riding her hobby horse.  There are some bends in the tintype.  No case.

I always buy these half cases when I can and this one is pretty, despite missing mother-of-pearls pieces in three places. This is not listed in Berg's reference so it's rare.   Someone thoughtfully covered the missing areas with gold which accomplished the goal of me not noticing it.  There is a great outdoor scene that came with the case but it is badly damaged, with emulsion problems and a strange circular area.  Despite the obvious condition problems, the clarity is fairly good on some things.  Clearly visible is some of the stock of the store, brooms, pans and the sign.  I bought this from a Georgia dealer, who bought it in an auction in Pennsylvania.   

This case is in good condition except for a small bit out of a corner on the back.  Attractive, well dressed woman. 

This thermoplastic octagonal case measures 3 by 2 inches or thereabouts.  There is no glass, the image was just cut to fit into the case.  There is no pillow but a cut down postal card dated 18 something with a Nashville cancel and some other town in Tennessee, can't quite read it.  The little case is perfect and closes and opens

Nice content on this tintype which measures 3 and a half by 2 and a half inches.  Several folds in the tintype.  

Selling this for the case though it has a fairly decent tintype in it.  Very minor wear.

These guys have a Western look to them. A couple of light puncture marks in the upper left hand corner, otherwise very nice condition.

Tiny little case which is listed as scarce-"The Meditating Monk" See scan to view the large chunk out of one corner. There is general wear to the relief of the image as well. Worn pillow. The little cigar smoking guy is just along for the ride.

No cracks but some wear to the edges and some corners. These small defects do not detract much visually. The image is of a baby and you can see part of the Mother when you remove the preserver. It is clear that the image has been cut down to fit the case.

Two nice sixth plate tintypes in very good condition. They are encased in a nice leather case and the front has a mother of pearl design with some crazing. They appear to be sisters.

Charming pose showing a child holding a book or perhaps a photographic case. Half case only.

Sixth plate tintype showing a couple, probably man and wife with their bikes. The man is holding a little civil war era flag and is wearing a ribbon and possibly a badge above it. I have looked at this under strong magnification and it appears to be a seven star flag. One is in the middle and others are in a circle around it. This was found in a Nashville estate. Bicycle races were a popular event in the post war era. Numerous folds, not than visible in the scan.

I can't decide if this man with a pistol stuck in his belt is a soldier or an actor. Some spotting which is probably on the glass. Clarity is not real sharp. Encased in an oval case which has been extensively repaired and not in a good way. Worn, discolored pillow.

This tintype measures three and a half by two and a half inches. a couple of creases that you don't notice unless rotating under a light. Completely outfitted. His hat is on the table. He seems to be holding a trumpet. Good clarity on this image.

Two types in half cases, both attractive, fashionably dressed women. 1/9 and 1/16 plates.

This tintype is post civil war. It measures three and a half inches- by two and a quarter inches which is not a standard size. There is a deep vertical scratch which runs through the subject. Nice clarity. He is holding a pipe. No collar on the under shirt. Tinted cheeks and gold gilt on his ring and his buttons. Nice item for the naval collector.

This is an early tintype, I believe due to the thickness is a melainotype. Nice clarity but spotty background in field above the family. I don't know what causes this. It has the appearance of small oil stains just to give you a better idea as to what it looks like. Nice leather half case. Wish I had the full case but this is the nicest half plate half case I have ever had 

Artistic rendering on this full plate tin type. Good clarity in the photo. Paper for the mat stuck on the top. Can be removed.
