This Western Union Collect ticket is dated 1927. Presented to Mr H M Carter. This is a way to transfer money by telegraph and cable.

Here are three unrelated paper items from Judson College. One is a letter to Mattie Jones, saying they are pleased with her teacher performance and are hiring her again for the coming year.  Unfortunately the graphic of the college was partially trimmed.  The letter is signed by Robert G Patrick and is dated March 15, 1913.  The second item is a small program for the eightieth commencement in 1918. Finally there is a letter to the same Miss Jones from Dr. T A Miller, who relates to her that he has resigned due to the financial problems of the school.

Burial was at Willow Mount Cemetery.

There are two items in this lot, one a commencement program from 1920 and the other is a program, dated 1902 for a concert by Lillian Nordica.  Folds on both and ink notations in the commencement program.

This interesting paper item folds up but measures 22 inches long.  The front has photographs of the building and the back has written material.  This school is in Marion Alabama. 

This is the "First Annual Catalogue of this obscure school.  I can't find much history on it.  19 page booklet, which includes all the student names and local advertising ads in the back. Please view the scan to see the condition which is complete but poor.There is a picture of the building in the front.  The school was run by the General Association of Kentucky Baptists.  Would be fun to research this school further. The item measures 7 + by 5+ inches. "The aim of the school was preparatory.  It is in no sense a College."

This item is the size of a postcard.  Emma Gardner passed with merit.

Two page letter with a strange graphic, labeled "The Devil" and dated April 13, 1900.  The letter is written to the Honorable William F Rhea, who was a state Congressman  from Virginia and is signed by W H Eads, presumably the editor of the paper published in Jonesville Virginia, published by A M Goins. The letter gives Rhea his support and refers to a contested election Rhea has been involved in earlier, according to my research.  

This 1967 certificate registers a mare who was foaled in 1961 giving her bloodline.  Owned by Dayton N Range of Elizabethton, Tn. Measures 12 by 9+inches.  Scan does not show the whole item. Name of the foal was Lashbrooke Fair Lady.

Ticket measures 3 1/2 by 2 1/4 inches Nice graphic of a steamboat. The grayish area on the right edge was erased.  Stamp on back reads "Mason & Pyhians".

This 1821 stampless cover was from the Office of the agency of the Bank Of the United States, Cincinnati, Ohio telling Northrop that a payment was due on his debt.  Large and small tear at the folds and an archival repair near the bottom right edge. Clear cancel from Cincinnati and 18 paid ?  Addressed to Northrop in Lanesville, Ohio.   

Hope this is of interest to mutual Tennessee Titans fans as a reminder of the good old days.  Can be mailed in a legal sized envelope.

Neat item sent out by the inventor of the telephone and other things, in his capacity of Expert Special Agent for the Census Office. It a second request for an accounting of all blind and deaf members of the families that the census takers had visited.  Bell always had an interest in the deaf and did a lot of work with and for them.  There is a tear at one of the folds.

There are two items in this lot. Twenty nine page booklet.  Some wear to the cover including corner creases.There is also an invitation to the event. Silver Anniversary 

This lot consists of a ribbon which appears to have been trimmed at the top and bottom and a nice engraved card though unrelated to the ribbon.  The card is from A N Lindenmuth of Allentown Pennsylvania.  Greenleaf Lodge No 561.

Dingy appearance with stains on the front and back.  Interior which includes a short biography of the American hero, is loose. 1912`
