89 page booklet with illustrations, written by Kurt R Kruger in 1979. This is a rare item and I could find no other examples of the web that were available for sale. It looks like a pretty exhaustive catalog of souvenir items. Priority mailing will show on the invoice but advise if you want it sent book rate and the excessive postage will be refunded.

Ribbon-New Orleans-World's Industrial-Cotton Centennial Expo
Item #: NEW-0011784
|
|
Nice scarce souvenir from the ill-fated New Orleans World's Fair. The fringe in missing on the bottom and some one has added in pencil a date at the top of the ribbon. Nice overall appearance but the biggest condition problem is the separation in the fold at the middle. At present it is only halfway but clearly it is fragile. Features President Grover Cleveland. Measures ten and a half inches long. This exposition was riddled with scandals and the state treasurer absconded with a great deal of the money.

It would be hard to find a nicer copy of this view book of lithographs, including many in color of this exposition. The only problem I can note is that some of the color lithographic scenes produced some staining on the opposite pages. I have shown the page most affected, the others are quite moderate.

Mercantile Club, St Louis. Photographs of the officers of the Iron Mountain Route, also of the Texas and Pacific Railway, The Midland Route, the Sana Fe, Missouri, Kansas and Texas Route, Cotton Belt Route, Southern Pacific Company (the Sunset Route), The Old Reliable Short Line (GH and HRR), the International Route, Fort Worth & Rio Grande Railway, Weatherford, Mineral Wells & Northwestern Railway, and Frisco Line.
