This is a scarce out of print book and references political ribbons and badges.  Printed in 1985. This is the bi-centennial edition of Alphaeus H Albert's work.  511 pages with illustrations of buttons.  This is your go to for military and other historical buttons.  Excellent condition. Can be sent book rate for a savings.

This is a huge soft bound book, published in 1952 by the Smithsonian.  It includes a biography of the candidates, including the third party ones, with some illustrations.  It is a useful reference on those who ran but lost. This is a beautiful, informative book written by the button czar, Ted Hake,  This is a hard back first edition that was printed in 1986.  It has color plates, 324 pages, information about button makers along with a price guide.  It is a heavy book and will probably cost $3.50 by media mail.  Excessive postage will be refunded.  There is wear to the bottom edges, as well as to the spine ends and tips.  This is a must have for the pin back collector.

I love these old reference books which almost always contain illustrations of campaign items you have never seen before. "The Story of Political Gadgets and Push Buttons." Undated but includes candidate through 1864. Please note the condition problems on the dust cover. There is a line of old scotch paper residue and also some chips and tears in the cover. Interior is clean. There is alot of written material with eighteen pages of black and white illustrations.

Complete title of this book is Abraham Lincoln Illustrated Envelopes and Letter Paper 1860-1865 by James W Milgram. Publisher Northbook Publishing Company. 1984. Very nice condition other than my ink name on the fly page. Don't know why I did that. This is a very useful reference which has more content than indicated in the title. There are illustrations of other Lincoln ephemera as well as other candidates covers. There are also some illustrations of Confederate postal covers and lettersheets. The book is a must for any collector of political and patriotic postal history.

Complete run of catalogues produced by Tom Slater in the early 90' s to mid-nineties. I can't find a year on the first one but it would be 90 or 91. Most of these catalogues include other categories of collecting. This run includes two catalogues devoted to the Paul Perlin collection. This item is being relisted as I have found the rest of the catalogues that begin with #1 (1997) and extend through 28 (2003). The formats varied as the years went on as can be seen by the photo. I regret that I don't have enough space anymore to keep these useful catalogues which contain political memorabilia and general Americana, with prices realized. This is a great reference book for Political Cartoons from 1879 to 1898. Dust cover is in poor condition despite what you see in the scan but the book is fine.
