This poster measures 29 by 23 inches.  There is some wear on this poster so I believe it was actually used.  These problems are not visible in the scan so I will describe them.  Tears and crumpling at the mid top edge and minor wear to the other part of the top edge.  Two inch circular tear at left edge  and an inch tear in the right edge. Small tears and crumpling along the bottom edge.  There is a light crease line down the whole middle part of the poster, not really a fold.  I believe this could be smoothed out in framing.  The poster is a satire of a movie named Viet Nam.  It shows President Lyndon B Johnson relaxing in a lawn chair with armed soldiers behind him.  "Filmed in real blood and guts color",  "Price of Admission, Your Son." Hitler is displayed at the top.   Will be mailed rolled. 

This is a rare Electoral Ticket from Virginia.  Condition problems are evident in the scan, two hard discolored folds, a couple of corner creases and some staining.  The voter has signed on the back.  This is the only example that I have ever seen from the important 1860 presidential campaign.

This is likely a one of a kind card which is hand painted.  "Oh please, Mister Man, Let me vote if you can.  My age I will tell, my arts will compel you to give me a vote, if you can.  Mister Man. Never mailed but undivided back card.  Excellent condition. 

Little booklet on newsprint which has 30 pages of newspaper cartoons which are anti-Johnson and compulsory union membership. The booklet measures 8 + by 5+ inches. The cartoons were taken from newspapers all over the country. Minor wear.  Taft Harley Act.

Strangely this blue rag item is not dated but is clearly from the 1850's.  This circular was from the Grand Council Cold Water Army of America. The circular advertises a "beautiful picture" of the Hon. J Belton O-Neall, Most Worthy Patriarch of the Sons of Temperance" whose hand is resting on the Temperance Pledge.  To the left of him "stands Hon Neal Dow, holding in his hands THE MAINE LIQUOR LAW. Following that is a long list of names of men who support the movement including many famous men who are also portrayed in an engraving of "The celebrated artist T H Matteson." The circular is offering this engraving for $5. These terms are on the inside pages, including testimonials for the" beautiful engraving."  (I could not find an example on the web but didn't look very long)

Phyllis Schafly believed that women belonged in the home rearing children but her own life was filled with political activism.  She was a bitter opponent of the ERA amendment.

This poster measures 16 and a half by 11 inches.  Light wear including light folds, creases on one corner and a cluster of indentation marks on the left edge.

One and a quarter inch celluloid from Dr. King's organization.  Nice condition.  

Two and a quarter inch cello.  This was issued by the Womens International League for Peace and Freedom, a very old organization.  

Engraved card which was signed by a Ella Holtz which pledges "my word and Honor, God Helping Me, to abstain from all intoxicating liquors as a beverage..." Issued by the National Christian Temperance Union and published by a company in Mansfield Ohio.

Three inch celluloid proclaiming the cause of the Equal Rights Amendment in different languages. Surface scratches and a couple of black spots which are from the printing.

These are all membership buttons from the Building and Construction Trades Council in St. Louis AFL CIO. All different. I have more of these, all different.

29 by 20+ inch poster featuring Mao Zedong (I guess). Some chipping along the edges and a heavy fold which needs to be pressed. Paper appears to be different from US posters, perhaps a heavy rice paper.

Nice condition on this prohibition token though the scans do not show the clarity.

See scan for this fancy temperance badge. The hanger says Delegate. There is a hole in the ribbon at the top-mid part. The celluloid insert pooches out from the metal rim. Cello is off center and has a yellowish cast. The badge reads 16th Annual Convention Pa Loyal Temperance Union. Wilkes-Barrie June 25-26-27 '07.

The title of this sheet is "The Green Mountain Yankee", Temperance Medley. Published in Boston. Complete with large light water stain in right upper edge of the cover and some age spots. Scan only shows the middle portion of the sheet.

This little booklet measures five by three inches. Separated at the spine half way down but otherwise in good condition and displays nicely.

This little broadside measures 10 by 6 inches, advertising a Lecture on Temperance by Attorney-General Jeff McCarn. Thin paper with minor wear. McCarn was the chief prosecutor in the Cooper-Sharp trial who were found guilty in the assassination of Senator Carmack.

What a hoot this 1874 print is. Joan of Arc like figure on horse back, wielding an ax with the barrels of beer, whiskey, gin, brandy, and rum barrels smashed into. Even the horse looks scared. This is not the original frame and will be taken out for easier mailing. I framed it and it is intact, not cut down. There might be a few more small tears but basically this is in great condition.
