Hughes had a good career and there is a good write up on him in Wikipedia. Here is a portion of it: "On August 3, 1906 Hughes became the first pitcher in major league history to pitch a shutout and hit a home run which accounted for the only run in the game, when he hit a solo shot in the 10th inning off St. Louis Browns pitcher Fred Glade, at Sportsman's Park II, to give Washington a victory. He also pitched in the first World Series, though losing in the third game." His stint with Rochester must have been very brief and near the end of his career.
Please view the scans, the card looks pretty good to me.

Paddy Moran-Hockey Players-Imperial Tobacco Card-No1 C55
Item #: NEW-0014282

|
This little tobacco card was inserted in cigarette packs by the Imperial Company based in Canada. This was the first card in the C-55 series perhaps since he was a Hockey Hall of Fame player. This card has some damage so please study the scan carefully. There is a hard to see light crease which begins at the top of the right hand edge and runs through part of his shirt. The area at the right bottom corner is also a crease.
Patrick Joseph "Paddy" Moran (March 11, 1877 – January 14, 1966) was a professional ice hockey goaltender. Moran played all but one of his 16 seasons for the Quebec Hockey Club, from 1901 to 1917; in the 1909–10 season, Moran played for the Haileybury Comets. Moran was noted for protecting the area in front of his net by aggressively using his stick, and expectorating at opposing players while chewing tobacco. He won two Stanley Cups with Quebec in 1912 and 1913. Moran was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1958.
The first hockey card sets, generally known as C Series sets, were distributed in cigarette packages by the Imperial Tobacco Company during 1910-1913. The first hockey card set, designated as C56, was issued in the 1910-1911 season, and was called the "Hockey Series" featuring colored portraits of the leading hockey players of that year. This thirty-six (36) card series featured hockey players from the Ottawa, Quebec, Renfrew, Wanderers, and Montreal teams. The forty-five (45) card C55 Series was issued in 1911-12 Patrick (Paddy) Moran-Canadian Hockey Players-Tobacco Card-C55-No1

This item falls in the category of "doesn't fit in". I no longer count myself a baseball fan but have always been fascinated by the history of baseball and I'm a fan of Ken Burns. I watched all nine programs and found it mesmerizing. These are on VHS tapes, which I have always found superior to DVD's as they never get stuck and you can resume where you left off. Ignore the shipping price on the invoice. It will be sent media mail and not sure of the cost. I will refund excessive postage.

Some wear to this little booklet though it presents well. There is a large corner crease on the bottom corner which blends in with the graphics. There is a small linear crease on the same corner. The paper is newsprint quality and has acidic toning but interior pages are clean. The most interesting thing is the photographs of some of the high school teams, complete with names. Not all the teams are pictured and some states just has a few teams listed. Also the Official Playing Rules Recodified. 80 pages.

This great silver print photograph with mount measures 14 by 12 inches. Photographer mark on Schneider of Chicago. Framing instructions on the back read 1917 but the photograph could be earlier. All of the individuals in the photograph have signed their names. One appears to read J A Bender, another W B Traser in bold ink. The three others are in lighter ink and harder to read so I won't. I can't read the trophy either. They are look pretty proud of themselves. The first scan is of the photo in the frame which will not be included. The second scan is of the photograph itself and has the truest appearance.

9 by 7 and a half inch photo on a board which has been cut down due to the damage. Photo has good contrast and clarity is very good, plus the players are quite handsome. The silver in the albumen causes some distortion when you are not looking dead on at the photo. Note the damage to the lower edge to the left where part of the photo has come loose and has torn off. There is also a tear which extends for at least three inches. Unfortunately the title portion is missing which indicates the state. What I can read is Hannibal YMCA Basketball team 1912-1913.
