Yes, I bought this, evidently because it was there and maybe I felt like celebrating something.  There is some light rusting in places which I haven't bothered to try to remove.  It measures 16 and a half inches tall.  The thin handle is bent.

Judy Touchstone-Decorated Jug-Turkey Mountain Pottery
Item #: NEW-0013619

I tried to pass this up at the Scott Antique Market but found it so interesting that I had to buy it.  I'm not sure I captured all the scenes on this jug which is named "Big Boy's First Hunt."  It measures about eleven and a half inches tall and about 24 inches wide.  There is one defect worth mentioning can be seen in the last scan, the white area where a chunk is missing.  There is also a very small spot where it appears that the paint and glaze is missing but it is not a chip. Judy's husband is named Tom Touchstone and they live in Armuchee Georgia.  This belongs in a Georgia Jug collection and if it can be repaired should be quite valuable someday.  I've guessed at the weight so ignore the shipping cost on the invoice, as excessive postage paid will be refunded.

Complete but rust spots on the silver rim which can be seen in the scan.  I grew up listening to Jack Armstrong, the "All American Boy" and since my maiden name is Armstrong I was convinced that we were related.  What a disappointment that it took so long to arrive in my mail box.

Vintage Technics FM Stereo Tuner-Panasonic ST-9030
Item #: NEW-0012035

This is the third item I am offering from my old sound system that I had to abandon when I moved from Nashville.  This was in good working order when it was connected but I can only say now that the light comes on as I no longer have any speakers. Am selling AS IS at a much reduced price seen on the web.  The tuner was purchased in 1981 but has been in storage for four years. It comes with the manual.  There are many scratches on the top of the tuner where I moved components around.

Vintage Apt-Holman Preamplifier with Manual
Item #: NEW-0012034

This item falls in the category It doesn't fit in as opposed to Why did I buy it.

There is a saying that the old ways are the best ways.  This is especially true for sound systems which cannot be compared to more modern equipment and certainly not to Ipods.  I purchased this pre amp in 1981 and enjoyed it up until my move from Nashville about four years ago.  It has been in storage since my move since I had to sell my too big speakers in Nashville, knowing that I was down sizing in space.  As I have no suitable speakers I cannot test the pre amp except that a light comes on when I turn it on.  It did have an annoying defect which I learned to live with as it had been fixed once only to relapse about a year later.  The switch is defective so I turned it off and on with a power strip.  I am selling this AS IS and am pricing far below what it has brought on the web. Actual shipping charges despite what it says on the invoice.

Vintage Amp-Phase Linear-400 Series Two Power Amplifier
Item #: NEW-0012032

This falls in the category of doesn't fit in rather than why did I buy it. I was surprised to learn in surfing the web that my great vintage amplifier is more valuable now than it was when I first bought it in 1981. I shouldn't have been surprised as the older amps in most cases are superior to the newer equipment.  Evidently there are still  people around  who prefer the sweet sound of a nice sound system to an Ipod.  I enjoyed it for several years but it has been in storage since my move from Nashville about six years ago. The speakers were sold before my move so I have no way to see if the storage has harmed the amp in any way.  When I plugged it in the light came on.  It does have a cosmetic defect which was present when I first took it out of the box.  The light on the left balance does not move but I never returned it as the sound comes out of the left side. I am selling this AS IS since I have no way of testing it.  I'm pricing it significantly less than those that have sold on Ebay and the internet.  The manual and the troubleshooting chart accompanies the amp but after storage they are not as clean as they appear in the scan. This amp weighs a ton so buyer will have to pick it up.

Vintage Mandalian Beaded Purse-Painted Metal
Item #: NEW-0011600

I had to buy this as it was just sitting there at a ridiculous price.  This great purse would have been carried by a flapper girl in the 1920's.  The purse itself measures 6 by three inches.  The only problem that I can see is that it is bunched up on one side close to the end of the metal frame.  I believe it is because it is not attached to the frame in this area and presumably it can be re-attached.  I'm listing at a fraction of the value of Mandalian purses I have seen on the web.  I'm out of my element on this one so please ask any questions you might have about this item.

Fake Younger Gang Cabinet Card
Item #: NEW-0011545

I bought this years and years ago and fortunately have forgotten what I paid for.  It fooled me then as I didn't know then they were reproducing famous photographs and it would probably fool me now with my poor eye sight but this is why you should always carry a good magnifying glass with you.  Under 10 X you can see the tiny, uniform dots which tips you off to this being a copy.  Don't buy if you think you can sell it at a high price as I have written FAKE in ballpoint on the back.  Still makes a nice display as it has excellent clarity.

Large Jug that used to be a Lamp-Political?
Item #: NEW-0011312

I need some help with this item which I bought in a junk/antique store in Macon Ga.  I was sure I had found something great and now I don't know what it is.  I was attracted by the lettering which reads, "Gov J Thompson."  1858 Athens."  Not that familiar with Georgia politicians I assumed that he was a Georgia Governor.  The store owner said it came with a composite photograph of old Georgia office holders.  I took the lamp portion out which leaves a hole in the bottom.  There is also something inserted in the top, otherwise it looks like any other stoneware jug.  It measures eighteen inches tall.  I have been unable in my research to find any Governor by this name.  It looks like other Georgia jugs that I have seen and one of the scans I have placed with a Crawford County jug.  The scans are lighter that the jug actually is. The interior of the jug seems fresh and I think it is fresh and was an attempt to stabilize the jug in order to handle the lamp hardware and shade.  Actual shipping charges regardless of the figure given on the invoice. I would appreciate any ideas that someone might have on this item.

Pillars of the Earth on Cassette Tape-Ken Follett
Item #: NEW-0011037

I know why I bought this.  I loved reading this great book and since it had been awhile I knew I would have forgotten most of it and would enjoy listening to it on tape.  It's a glorious story and I would want to keep driving just so I could hear it.  This is something you would want to take with you on a very long trip as it is fifteen hours long contained in 10 tapes.  It is taped on both sides and your car would require a balance feature.  I would think it would be present on all cars but I had to read my car manual to find it.   If you are listening at home only stereo players can access both sides. Oprah Winfrey proclaimed this book as one of the best she had ever read and I agree with that. Will be mailed media mail for a savings.

Tennis Whist Playing Cards
Item #: NEW-0010417

You might ask what is Tennis Whist?  Exhaustive research on the web has turned up very little. Evidently Whist is similar to Bridge and there may be some connection to table tennis since they were often mentioned together.  Anyway this is a regular deck of cards but it has a graphic of tennis rackets on the back. The deck is from the National Card Company in Indianapolis & New York.  There was an odd card in the deck which features the Brownies dancing.  This should be a scarce item for the game collector.

Pooley Radio Cabinets Box-Contents
Item #: WHY-009492

I've always had an affinity for little boxes but what to do with it now? The box measures 8 by 3 inches. Some wear in the surface as can be seen in the scan. The interior appears to be a white surface-milk glass maybe. I have thrown in three miscellaneous items that I bought for some reason. One is a packet of Victor Red Seal Needles (unopened), a 45 player insert and a Fidelitone Master record cleaning pad. The middle part had a phonograph needled inserted in it originally but it is gone.

Total 96 buttons, most from the 70's but some from late 60's. Great lot for the dealer. If I still set up at political shows I would keep them. Alvin C York Folk Art Chair-Dow Pugh
Item #: NEW-007930

I actually know why I bought this.  I had discovered that I was related to him  Since my move, I really don't have room for it.  Chair was made by a  famous Tennessee folk artist, Don Pugh, now deceased. It is signed and dated as shown in the scan of the chair bottom. It's 34 inches tall, a children's sized chair. 12 and a half inches wide. Do not order through the website as I don't know what the shipping charges would be. Contact me through e-mail and we can discuss possibilities of pick-up or delivery. This was appraised at $1,500 by a knowledgeable folk artist dealer. York, was of course, the most famous hero of WWI and was from Tennessee.

Chief William E Newman of Hillsboro N. H. The other large celluloid is for the 18th Annual Firemen's Field Day and Ball, York Fire Department in 1934. This ribbon has partially separated from the bar and i've used a little archival tape to try to assist it.
