This card was never mailed but looks old.  When I bought it I noted that the men were posing but I felt that there was something strange about it.  Now it looks to me like they are Indians at all and they look like they have make up on to make them appear darker.

Great content on this real photo postcard from 1918..  There is a large group of mostly men but some women and children gathered around a "Wonder Washer" an early washing machine. There is a handsome distinguished man with white hair standing to the right which I'm guessing is the inventor or owner of the product.  Perhaps a demonstration has just taken place in front of the large crowd.  See the related card which is also being listed.

Real Photo PC-Men Convention Goers-Saloon?
Item #: NEW-009653

It drives me crazy when I have an interesting real photo card and can't figure out where it is from.  I can't find a Tony Oehler's Place or a Tony Dehler's Place documented on the web.  It shows a large group of men posed in front of what looks like a Saloon.  This idea came from on man on the middle left hand side, at the end who is holding a large mug of ale or dark beer.  The men are wearing paper discs, one is fairly visible and shows a man in a bowler hat.  The men are also wearing a ribbon which reads on one side Rooters.  Several men are carrying noisemakers and cow bells.

There is considerable wear to the card including a crease on the upper right hand corner and left corner and wear to the other two.  Very nice clarity.

Two corner creases on this card which is identified as Ex-Governor Steunenberg's house. On the back of the card the correspondent says, "This is the gateway where Harry Orchard killed Gov Steunenberg by the explosion of a bomb." Frank Steunenberg was the fourth Governor of the State of Idaho, serving from 1897 until 1901. He was assassinated in 1905 by one-time union member Harry Orchard, who also admitted to being a paid informant for the Cripple Creek, Colorado, Mine Owners' Association. Orchard attempted to implicate leaders of the radical Western Federation of Miners in the murder. The labor leaders were found not guilty in two trials, but Orchard spent the rest of his life in prison.
