Good condition on this early postcard of the ruins of an old mill.  There are two cancels on this card, one Canehill and the other Prairie Grove.  Addressed to Mr Wallace Pyeatt.  

This card was not mailed but there is a torn area near the top right hand corner.  Message on back reads "This is Julia Pyeatt's home in Prairie Grove.  She was Bap's grandmother mother of Robert Pyeatt (daddy pa) Betty, Mattie, Samuel, Emmett, & Wallace."  Not sure of the spelling of this name.

They don't come any better than this.  Postmarked from Mammoth Springs , real photo postcard.  This was actually an event that happened.  Sometime ago, I found a newspaper report of this and though I can't find it again, I copied the account. " Killed by Posse in Bank-Three masked men entered the Citizens Bank at Mammoth Springs Arkansas and robbed the bank while two others stood guard outside.  The cashier was locked in the vault and the robbers took all the cash inside.  For 10 days bank officials have known that an attempt would be made to rob he bank.  In preparation the Sheriff had rounded up a posse and was hidden in the back room of the bank when the robbery occurred.  As the robbers were leaving, the officers opened fire on them with Winchester rifles.  One of the robbers who was instantly killed, had 22 bullets enter his body.  The other robbers were captured uninjured."

Two neat view books containing images of Hot Springs Arkansas. One, titled Cutter's Guide to Hot Springs Arkansas is dated 1906. Dingy areas to the cover and a small water spot on the bottom edge which goes through many of the back pages. Back cover shows the interior of J M Blake Company Jewelers and has numerous stains, dingy areas, and a circular missing area near the spine. Stain on one of the interior pages which affected the following page. 64 pages, most with photographs. Interior view of Lemley's Drug Store. The second book is titled Gem Souvenir, Hot Springs, Arkansas. This was also produced by Cutter's Guides and Souvenirs for the Health and Pleasure Resorts of America. Unpaged, but thicker than the smaller booklet and contains full page photographs of bath houses, Hotels, Homes, scenes from Happy Hollow, Oak Lawn and Essex Park Races and more. Biggest condition problem is on the inside cover where a young child and a pencil went wild. I've erased alot of it and a better job can be done with persistence.

Postally unused card which shows an interesting scene- the Rail Road cut on K C S-40 feet deep and 1/3 mile long. Kansas City Southern Railway. See scan to view the marks at upper edge. The post card does not lie flat and must have suffered some moisture damage in the past.

Unused postcard which was purchased in a lot of cards from Briscoe and Clarenden Arkansas. The sticker on the sleeve suggest that these are cards waiting for the ferry. Minor wear.
