Item #: CIV-002145

First edition of Boyd's autobiography, printed in 1865 by Blelock & Company, New York. Heavy shelf wear to the upper and lower spine with portions missing. Someone used something to improve appearance of the boards which gives it an uneven look. Embossed stamp of an owner on the first blank page. Water type stain covering a corner of the next blank page. A clipped bogus autograph of Belle Boyd on the next page which is partially detached at the top and bottom, leaving a small area which has not separated. Rest of binding is intact. Cracks in the hinges. Interior is better than one would expect with the paper being quite acidic. Tips of the boards are worn and turned inward.

War Between the Union and the Confederacy
Item #: CIV-000246

First edition on this rare and desirable book. Written by William C. Oates, a Neale printing in 1905. I have never seen this book in good condition but this book has extensive problems. Spine looks awful and almost separated from the book. Front board is fairly decent looking and could be used in a re-backing. Someone put red cloth tape on the corners but these could be replaced with some nice leather mending. Back cover dingy, stained and with several ink spots. Loose binding and partially detached in the front. Scotch tape mending of title page with staining. Two pages from the table of contents are missing along with the illustration of Lincoln. Rest of the pages in the Table of Contents are torn and clumsily repaired. Fly pages missing. Need I go on? This books lists for $850 and I'm selling for what I paid for it.

First Edition, printed in 1867 by Harper & Brothers, New York. Musty smell on this book which has suffered extensive smoke damage to the exterior. Weird patterns of smoke damage, half of the spine is discolored, almost half of the back cover, and almost half of the front cover. Smoke damage has replaced the gilt on the closed pages. Most of the interior pages are ok although some residue on a few pages in the back but maybe could be erased. Spine is also bunged up at the top and bottom and other wear to the covers. Am selling for what I paid for it years ago. Broadfoot lists at $450.00
